Apologues and Friends exists to put literacy and character-development tools directly into the hands of schools, libraries, and community organizations that couldn't otherwise afford them. With one exception (our community workshops), we don't run programs ourselves; we give organizations what they need to run their own.
We donate storybooks and Octopus Effect™ Companion Guides to schools, libraries, and community groups serving underserved children. Materials are purchased from Apologues, LLC and distributed to recipients at no cost.

The one program we run ourselves. Apologues and Friends volunteers lead guided workshops at community centers, churches, libraries, and other sites that request one, using Apologues, LLC's Octopus Effect™ Companion Guides for a story read-aloud, discussion, and hands-on activities. Sessions typically run 30–45 minutes.
The ALL Program is a sustained, youth-led literacy mentorship curriculum created by Apologues, LLC, pairing student Youth Literacy Mentors with Lead Readers to guide younger students through storytelling and discussion across a full school year. Apologues and Friends donates complete ALL Program Packages, including student handbooks, facilitator guides, and Octopus Effect™ Companion Guides, to schools and organizations ready to implement the program with their own staff and students.
